The rosters for the 2015 All–Star Game were officially announced on Sunday night, and we couldn’t be more proud of Dallas Keuchel and Jose Altuve which will represent the Houston Astros in All-Star week festivities, and it will take part in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Tuesday, July 14.
Altuve has been elected to start an All-Star Game for the very first time, although this is his third All-Star selection (also in 2012, 2014). On September 16, 2014, the Astros second baseman hit a single up the middle to break Craig Biggio‘s record of 210 hits. The same year, he became the first Astros player to win a batting title.
Tucked in there among the top 10 pitchers, is a 27-year-old lefty who has emerged as MLB’s unlikeliest ace, and whose beard is his trademark. Of course, we are referring to Dallas Keuchel. This season, the starting pitcher’s numbers are as impressive as they were unexpected. This guy, who was the latest victor of the Gold Glove, currently leads the American League in wins (11), innings pitched (130.1) and ranks second in ERA (2.14).
We hope you will support these fellow Houstonians by watching the All Stars Game on Fox Channel.
